Due to recent real estate transactions, Greene County General Hospital and Greene County General Hospital Foundation (GCGHF) needed to move approximately 500 boxes to another facility. During the preparation for the move GCGH Foundation Director Kyle Cross contacted Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) to see if an offender work crew could assist with the move. Lieutenant Petty coordinated the event by generating the required documents and obtaining the necessary approval. In a day’s time the offender work crew composed of five offenders were able to help complete the move. The offenders were supervised by both custody staff from WVCF and staff from the Greene County General Hospital Foundation. Registration Director Amber Greene stated the following, “Without the help of the guys this project would have taken us a lot longer. We are grateful to have partnered up to complete this project so quickly. Everyone has worked so hard.”
WVCF has 5 Level 1 Security Offender Work Crews. The offenders provide free help to Sullivan, Knox, Greene, Daviess, Vigo, Vanderburgh, Clay and Parke Counties!
