To better serve our community and patients, Greene County General Hospital has hired Jodi Barton, MSW a licensed social worker to serve as a Patient Advocate. Jodi’s role will include investigating, documenting and resolving incidents, patient complaints, grievances and inquiries. She will monitor GCGH’s patient satisfaction scores and assist in implementing best practices. She is also developing a Patient Family Advisory Council and is available as a clinical social worker.
Jodi is a life-long resident of Greene County and graduated from Shakamak High School. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Indiana State University and completed her Social Work internship with GCGH’s on-site social worker, Jill Bailey, MSW, ACSW, LCSW. Jodi is passionate about helping patients remove the barriers in their lives. She is excited to take this position as she is committed to her community and this region. Jodi states, “Patient Advocacy means standing beside a patient, listening and being their voice during a health crisis while utilizing my skillset to ensure the patient receives the safest possible outcome for their situation.”
