Statement from Brenda Reetz, CEO of Greene County General Hospital
“This morning at 9:00 am, a water leak was identified in the Emergency Department parking lot caused by a ruptured water main. The hospital has trained and prepared for incidents like this, and our staff is fully engaged in resolving this issue. All patients are safe, and their care remains our top priority. The leak has not impacted patient services, and we are fully operational in all departments.
“We are working with the City of Linton and Graves Plumbing at this time. City water has been shut off to the hospital so we can find and repair the leak, however, we remain well supplied from the hospital’s reserve water tower. Water conservation policies have also been implemented throughout the hospital.
“The cafeteria will continue to serve lunch during normal hours (11:30 am – 1:00 pm) today, August 4th, using disposable containers for all visitors. The cafeteria will be closed for dinner this evening and throughout the weekend. We hope to welcome customers again for breakfast on Monday morning.
“Patients will continue to receive high-quality care and the complete attention of our clinical staff while our facilities and administrative personnel deal with repairs. Updates will be provided as often as possible.”
