In partnership with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Greene County General Hospital is a prescription drug take back location for the next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on October 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Staff from GCGH and the sheriff’s department will be located in the main entrance of the hospital and will walk out to your car to take unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs.
National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.
The April 2019 Take Back Day nationally brought in 937,443 pounds (468.72 tons) of unused or expired prescription medication.
This brings the total amount of prescription drugs collected by DEA since the fall of 2010 to 11,816,393 pounds.
