GCGH welcomed the first newborn of 2021 on Friday, January 15, 2021. The parents, Katelyn Stevens and Anthony Stevens welcomed their daughter, Birdie Sue Stevens, Friday afternoon in GCGH’s labor and delivery department. Two GCGH labor and delivery nurses, Teresa Egnew, RN and Madisyn Bridges, RN assisted with the birth. During the December Board of Trustees meeting held virtually on December 15, 2020, the GCGH board members publicly recognized Owen Batterton, MD’s years of service to Greene County. Local physician, Owen Batterton, MD, practicing at GCGH’s My Clinics’ Bloomfield location, My Bloomfield Clinic, is retiring after practicing for almost forty years in Greene County. Dr. Batterton, a family medicine physician, has practiced in Bloomfield since July 1982. He received his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University and attended medical school at the University of Illinois-Chicago. During the November 17, 2020 semi-virtual public board meeting, the GCGH Board of Trustees welcomed Nancy Hudson to the GCGH Board of Trustees. Nancy is a Greene County native and retired from teaching at Bloomfield School District after serving the district for 27 years.
